TRIPLE CASH MURAL

AUSTIN, Texas - Johnny Cash will be permanently returning to downtown Austin on Saturday March 8, 2008.

Throughout the day on Saturday a mural dedicated to the memory of legendary country singer Johnny Cash will be painted on the exterior of Wahoo's Fish Tacos at 509 Rio Grande St., immortalizing his iconic image.

Jon Pattillo and Jed Taylor, two of the artists in the South Side Sanctuary collective, were commissioned to design and paint the 15-foot tall mural. Taylor and Pattillo had been seeking a downtown canvas large enough for another installation of their tributes to Cash. The owners of Wahoo's have graciously donated the side of their building.
